Happy New Year, Kalpana! What a year full of adventures you had! Yellowstone is amazing. I would love to visit it in winter some time. And I have never been to Israel, nor to India... so many worlds out there.

Do avocado trees take breaks from bearing fruit? Do you happen to know how many years it takes for a young one to bear fruit? I grew one from a seed, it is at least 1 m tall, but not yet bearing fruit.

Christine, I don't know much about avocado at all. But I know one thing, you have to help the pollination by adding a second avocado plant. Consult an expert because this is a tough one to handle. I've been so annoyed. Thank you for writing! It was great fun to process my year, in fact.

You write so well Kalpana. and when you look back as you did, it gives you an understanding of all that you did, the good and the bad, and the journey seems worth f it. Yes, your year long reading and telling us about books in translation was worth your time..I've saved many, hoping to read them soon :) see you at one of the lit fests soon

A beautiful reckoning, Kalpana, and some valuable insights. This one will stick with overly reactive me: “I’m learning, however, that it is all about attitude. The Gita tells us, repeatedly, to show equanimity and composure. This means—even in daily life—to not react but respond.” Good luck with the tooth, and I wish you a healthy, fulfilling 2023!
